Ludwigia arcuata, commonly known as Needle Leaf Ludwigia, is one of the most elegant and eye-catching stem plants in the aquascaping hobby. Its slender, needle-like leaves transition from bright green under lower light to stunning shades of orange and deep red under high light and CO₂, making it a showstopper in any planted aquarium. Its fine, delicate texture provides a beautiful contrast against broader-leaved plants and hardscape.

Plant in groups of 5–7 stems for the best visual impact. High lighting and CO₂ injection will bring out the most intense red and orange colouration. Supplement with iron-rich fertiliser to further enhance colour intensity. Trim regularly and replant tops to maintain a full, bushy appearance and encourage lateral branching. Ludwigia arcuata is one of the most rewarding stem plants to grow — the colour transformation under optimal conditions is truly spectacular.
