The Dupla Hobby UV-B Quick Test is a fast, simple, and reliable way to check whether your UV-B lamp is still producing effective radiation. Designed for use with UV-B fluorescent and compact lamps, this reusable test card helps ensure reptiles receive the UV-B levels they need for proper calcium metabolism and overall health.

Using a new, non-toxic and environmentally friendly high-tech detection material, the card reacts to UV-B radiation by changing colour from white to purple. The depth of colour indicates the intensity of UV-B being emitted, allowing you to quickly assess lamp performance in just seconds.

The UV-B Quick Test can be reused up to 500 times, making it a cost-effective and convenient monitoring tool. It can also be used outdoors to assess UV-B exposure—if the card turns purple, UV levels are high and shade is recommended.

How to Use

Hold the card directly under the UV-B lamp, approximately 5 cm from the light source. If the card turns purple, the lamp is still emitting UV-B rays. If there is no colour change, the UV-B lamp should be replaced immediately.

Important Note

UV-B lamps should be replaced at least annually or sooner if output declines. The UV-B Quick Test serves as a guidance tool and does not replace regular lamp maintenance.
